Virtual Staging AI: Turn Empty Rooms into Furnished Spaces

Interior staging AI: help your client picture a furnished space
An unfurnished view shows walls, windows and proportions, but it can be harder to picture how it might feel in use. A sofa gives a living area a sense of purpose; a table suggests where people might gather. Adding furniture and decor gives clients something they can respond to, helping you move from “I can’t quite imagine it” to a conversation about what they like.
ArchLife works from an empty-room photograph or an unfurnished project visualization. You can furnish an empty room photo and explore a direction before developing every piece in your Sketchup, CAD or BIM model. Because you’re working with an image, the model itself stays unchanged.
AI virtual staging for your next design conversation
Use virtual interior staging when you want to show possibilities rather than leave them to the imagination:
- Client meetings: give clients a visual proposal to discuss alongside the original.
- Design development: consider how furnishings and decor contribute to the character you have in mind.
- Unfurnished visualizations: show how the interior could work before modeling every item.
Virtual home staging can help clients connect an unfamiliar space with everyday life. For a design team, that means a clearer starting point for discussing atmosphere and furnishing choices together.
Get started with digital staging in a few steps
Upload your starting view
Choose a photograph or project visualization that clearly shows the space you want to furnish.
Guide the result with a category
Under Space type, select a category and then a specific setting, such as Residential → Living room. Both fields are optional.
Generate a furnished version
Run ArchLife’s AI interior staging tool to add furniture and decor.
Compare before and after
Move the slider to see the original alongside the result and assess the additions.
From homes and workplaces to hospitality and beyond
Furnishing a home is different from setting up a workplace or welcoming guests. The category gives the tool that context, helping it furnish the interior for its intended purpose. There are ten options:
- Residential: help clients imagine a home they can settle into, with places to relax, gather and go about everyday life.
- Office / Workplace: picture a setting for focused work, collaboration and team activities.
- Hospitality: consider the atmosphere you want guests to experience, from their first welcome to a comfortable place to stay.
- Retail: picture how a setting could present products and create a welcoming experience for customers.
- Healthcare: consider furnishings for places where comfort, reassurance and practical needs matter.
- Education: imagine settings for learning, sharing ideas and group work.
- Public / Civic: consider welcoming shared interiors that support everyday activities.
- Cultural: explore the character of places for art, ideas and shared experiences.
- Industrial / Workshop: plan a furnishing direction around practical tasks and those carrying them out.
- Sports / Recreation: picture environments for activity, leisure and spending time together.
The second menu narrows down the setting within your chosen category. Under Residential, for example, you might select Bedroom. This communicates both the broader purpose and the specific needs you have in mind. You can also leave both fields unset and start with your image alone.
Virtual furniture staging: see the difference before deciding
Look at your virtual staging before and after to discuss what the furnishings bring to the design. Does the seating make the living area feel inviting? Do the pieces work together? Use the comparison to check the overall arrangement and decide what you would like to develop further.
Virtual house staging is useful when a client is considering how to furnish a home: you can discuss possibilities before choosing the actual pieces.
Need to prepare the room or make a specific change?
Start with an unfurnished view. If the photograph contains smaller distractions, Declutter can help clear them; Remove Furniture handles movable furnishings.
For specific changes, use Refine Render to describe your idea in a prompt, add references or select an area. For a first visualization from a model screenshot, AI Render offers another starting point.
